Commerce City is located in Adams County and is a northern suburb of Denver. Commerce City is the 18th most populous municipality in Colorado and its population increased by approximately 120% from the 2000 U.S. Census to the 2010 U.S. Census. There are approximately 66,000 people living in Commerce City. Commerce City is a mixed residential and industrial community that is known for an oil refinery with a capacity of 98,000 barrels per day operated by Suncor.
