Fort Collins, originally founded as a military fort in 1864 is growing to become one of the best places to live in all the US. Now the third largest metro area in Colorado with a population of 360,000 the population is continuing to grow. About 60 miles away from Denver the city is located at the base of the northern front range, alongside the banks of the Cache la Poudre River. Fort Collins is 35 Miles south of the Wyoming border and is less than an hour’s drive to Cheyenne.

Home of Colorado State University many view the city as a midsized college town. The city enjoys all four seasons and sees an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. Sitting at 5,003 feet above sea level, the city provides quick and easy access to a large variety of both summer and winter activities.

The heart of Fort Collins education system is the University of Colorado State with more than 33,000 students enrolled in 2022. The University is known for its world-class teaching and research, earning the designation as a Carnegie R1, with $400+ million in sponsored research. The public university also thrives in areas such as agriculture, engineering, and business.

Fort Collins features a multifaceted economy that is home to various industries. With both large tech companies like Hewlett Packard as well as a large variety of startups, the city is a suitable headquarters for companies of any size. Those companies paired with the major research presence make Fort Collins a hub for innovation. A key contributor to the economy is the many breweries that call Fort Collins home. Most notably New Belgium brings not only jobs to the area but also acts as a tourist attraction. Downtown Fort Collins consists of art displays, local shops, and a wide variety of bars and restaurants.
